Meet Logan Mihailoff.
Logan is a cross-country runner at Camas High School in the state of Washington.
Logan, like many young athletes, had a rough start to the season, placing only 76th in the 5k race at the beginning of September. However, by the end of that same month, Logan successfully managed to place first in another 5k race, surging past an impressive 75 rankings.

That kind of turnaround almost sounds like an athletic fairy tale, and athletes of all levels would kill for such improved results. So what was the secret sauce? Extra training, new diet, different technique?
In reality, none of the above. He simply decided to switch from the men’s team to the women’s team.
It’s the tried-and-true remedy for the mediocre male athlete: brand new “identity,” brand new uniform, brand new team… brand new champion.

But the truth is that Logan is still a teenage boy, quite literally standing head and shoulders over the female athletes next to him. He has not magically transformed into a girl midseason, and yet those in charge are allowing him to pretend that he has. After all, in such “progressive” states hellbent on progressing society right off of a cliff, the state Interscholastic Activities Association makes clear that students may participate in sports consistent with their personal gender identity, no medical or legal proof of said identity required. Some may be surprised to hear, or even confused at, the fact that this embrace of fantasy is still even occurring. It’s true that one of President Trump’s campaign trail promises and early executive orders in office was to eliminate the fiasco of male athletes in female sports…however, this directive could only reach as far as federal funds reached organizations, leaving all states willingly infected with such misogynistic ideology largely unaffected by the scope of the signed order. And so this local school and state government are content to continue enabling this new racing emperor in his delusion, while the girls beside and eventually behind him are sent the crystal clear message that their female reality simply cannot match up against male entitlement.
Unfortunately, this situation in Camas is not remotely special, and there are Logans across the country infringing on female bodies of sports, under the insidious empathy trap that internal identity takes moral precedence over external bodies themselves. To its credit, the gender identity movement has done a truly excellent job of convincing society that these are just sympathetic individuals with the misfortune of being born in the wrong outer wrapping who only “want to play.” But while that may be the case for a naive six-year-old in community tee ball, this completely ignores the unsavory truth for the majority of both young and older men who do not possess this advertised innocence, are fully aware of reality around them, and have purposely made the choice to prioritize their personal desires over all women’s own desires, safety, and dignity.
Such conniving messaging is precisely how we then reach the depths of justifying such grotesque arguments as the unbelievably false and profoundly narcissistic threat of suicide if these poor males are not treated as they’d like. This is how we arrive at rationalizing the idea that these female athletes’ complaints simply mean that they should just work harder and stop blaming others for their own athletic shortcomings. And this is how we sink to the unimaginable offense of vilifying anyone who desires genuine integrity in sport and society as a literal “Nazi.”
The point of every single one of these absurd arguments is to take the onus off of the men, where it rightfully belongs, and place it on women instead, serving as both a distraction from the obvious and a punishment for noncompliance. And it works. Women are then forced to defend not only their deserved rights but the essence of reality. Forced to sit out events that they’ve spent ages training for as the only way to stand up for themselves. Forced to deal with the inevitable social fallout when they are chastised and ostracized by supposed friends, teammates, and coaches for having more figurative balls than the male fraud on their course.

Yet for the Be Kind Brigade running this fallacy through society, there are certain questions that can never seem to be answered.
Why can’t those who avoid the ultimate crime of committing offense perceive the offense for women of not only having their fairness stripped, but an expectation to take it with a smile?
Why is hurting a man’s feelings to be avoided at all costs, but women’s feelings while watching their own reduction can be dismissed as irrelevant? Further, why do so many assume women don’t even have these feelings?
Why is it important to show empathy to a man’s perceived condition and self-absorption, but there is rarely any empathy left for women calling out the resulting misogyny?
The answer always comes back to this depressing truth: to the proponents of this ideology, women still are not fully seen nor respected as whole humans that experience equally significant feelings and realities as men. Any impact on women’s own mental state, let alone tangible rights and opportunities, is both a negligible issue and acceptable byproduct of catering to certain prioritized men. In the end, ironically, for too many self-proclaimed “liberals” and “feminists,” women are just not worthy of the equality that such ideologues purport to value the most.
There simply is no more perfect Emperor’s New Clothes equivalent in our time. Everyone, whether an athlete, spectator, official, news consumer, or average internet user can absolutely see what is happening in front of their eyes, and yet far too many continue to pretend that they cannot. It may be due to a compulsion of avoiding an off-limits social topic, a fear of being “canceled” within one’s circles, or perhaps just a lack of caring enough to say anything, but all have thrown women under the bus of this disingenuity pushing male intrusion as inclusion, at the expense of female exclusion. The absolutely naked truth is that literally no one is truly questioning whether these are men masquerading in women’s opportunities… it has simply and always been about questioning how much such men are entitled to them.
Not a single opportunity for any woman or girl should ever be sacrificed for the self-centered wishes of any man or boy. No athlete should ever have to make the necessary call to forfeit against an intruder, therefore forfeiting all one’s work and dedication, going against not only everything one has trained for but stands for as a disciplined competitor. No woman should ever have her lifelong goals crushed. And no girl should ever assume that it’s better to not even begin because there was just no point in trying.
Women and girls deserve for those who claim to stand for women’s rights to actually do so, even when it clashes with precious politics. We deserve many more fellow humans who are not ideologically selective with who they deem deserving of humanity, as well as a truly progressive society in action, devoid of all the hypocrites in name only who are intent on sending ours backward. It’s past time to ensure that this cross-dressed blight in time is finally defeated across all states for all females, and to truly prove that there will no longer be any toleration of such undeniable farce, whether the emperor in question is wearing no clothes… or an ill-fitting woman’s uniform.
