A new report from the New York Post discovered that Catholic Charities and Global Refuge (formerly known as Lutheran Social Services) collected a combined total of $62 million to resettle Somali “refugees” in Minnesota over the past several decades.

Now, I’ve written numerous times (here, here, here, here, here, and here) on how Catholic Charities and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) have profited from the demographic replacement of Americans, the erosion of American safety and cultural and social homogeneity, and even the endangerment of foreign nationals, including (whether wittingly or not) the rape and trafficking of children. This is just another example.
Since the end of the 1970s, Catholic Charities (run by the USCCB) has been taking millions in federal taxpayer dollars in exchange for shuttling foreigners into Minnesota and “resettling” them there, with seemingly no regard for the Americans who already lived there.
Minneapolis has, for more than 200 years, been the home of Americans centered around the only natural waterfall on the Mississippi River, St. Anthony Falls, so named by Belgian Catholic priest and Franciscan Louis Hennepin in 1608, in honor of his patron saint, Anthony of Padua. In the 19th century, the city was considered the gold standard for flour milling, and its lumber mills outsold every other market in the world. Minneapolis’s highly productive lumber mills provided the white pine that built many of the prairie settlements across the Midwest: Miles City, Montana; Bismarck, North Dakota; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; Omaha, Nebraska; and Wichita, Kansas.
This storied American metropolis, one half of the Twin Cities, is no longer a hub of American excellence and industry but a den of corruption and fraud. The mass influx of resettled Somalis into the area has made Minneapolis “ground zero” for a sweeping nationwide fraud epidemic, uncovered thanks to the efforts of President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and their deputies. No more is the city dominated by the churches of the New England Protestants who built Minneapolis. Instead, it is populated by mosques, and entire neighborhoods have been dubbed “Little Mogadishu” thanks to the prevalence of resettled Somalis. Perhaps the most prominent member of Minnesota’s Somali population, U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is currently under federal investigation for alleged immigration fraud and ties to broader fraud schemes. In fact. Omar’s father, Nur Omar Mohamed, was evidently not a “refugee” fleeing a civil war in his native Somalia: He was a military colonel in the regime of dictator Siad Barre, a regime responsible for slaughtering some 200,000 fellow Somalis over clan differences. The poster child for Somali “refugees,” it turns out, is the child of a genocidal dictator’s lackey. (RELATED: Keeping Up With the Congresswoman)

This radical transformation of Minneapolis — and, in fact, of broad swaths of America, as the USCCB and Catholic Charities have netted hundreds of millions of dollars for “resettlement” programs run all across the country — has been facilitated by the USCCB, Catholic Charities, and other religious non-profits.
Is it any wonder that so many of America’s bishops fly into histrionic fits over the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement efforts? Is it any wonder that so many of them weaponize diluted renditions of the Catholic Church’s teachings — ignoring the Church’s longstanding wisdom on issues such as national sovereignty, public safety, and the obligation political leaders have to care for the common good of their own people and instead grossly exaggerating the Church’s instruction that strangers and sojourners are to be treated with human dignity — in their screeds against border security and mass deportations?
The USCCB and its affiliate organizations have made hundreds of millions of dollars off warped notions of “diversity” and “inclusion,” shredding the social fabric of the nation entrusted to their care and, in many cases, showing disdain and disregard for the flocks they shepherd, preferring to coddle Muslim, Hindu, and other pagan scammers hailing from low-trust, crime-ridden third-world countries.
The Gospel is not a license to abdicate one’s duties, to annihilate every border and every sacred distinction between peoples — and certainly not to profit from doing so.
