This isn’t rocket science.
The only people who have the right to vote in the upcoming midterm elections — or, for that matter, any American election — are duly qualified registered voters who are American citizens.

Yet here is this headline from over there in Newsmax: “Judge Orders Trump to Halt Noncitizen Voting Probe.”
Yes, you read that right. With the Newsmax story reporting this of U.S. District Court Judge Araceli Martinez-Olguin:
A federal judge in California has ordered President Donald Trump’s administration to halt investigations in nine states into whether noncitizens are registered to vote.
….The ruling applies to investigations in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Missouri, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Wisconsin.
Fox News reports on the story as well, headlining: “Biden-appointed judge blocks voter-fraud probes in battleground states just days before midterms.”
The Fox story reports:
Noncitizen voting is rare, but cases of illegal voting have been documented. News broke earlier this year, for example, that New Jersey erroneously placed over 6,000 non-citizens on its voter rolls. The Justice Department announced charges against 16 individuals in September, including noncitizens accused of voting illegally in federal elections, and brought additional election-related charges in October.”
Got that? So according to, no less, a federal judge, non-citizen voting is not a big deal. But oh yes, in New Jersey alone the state erroneously placed over 6,000 non-citizens on its voter rolls. Fox also headlines: “Justice Department charges 16 across multiple states with alleged illegal voting, election crimes.”
This story reported:
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced charges against 16 people in multiple states in connection with alleged illegal voting, voter registration and other election-related crimes, including cases involving noncitizens accused of casting ballots in federal elections.
DOJ followed the announcement with a warning on social media, saying some of those charged allegedly voted in the 2022 and 2024 elections, and warning others against attempting to illegally participate in U.S. elections.

“Let this be a warning to ANYONE trying to cheat and undermine our elections,” the DOJ wrote. “Spread the word!”
Got it. The word is now spread here in The American Spectator.
The hard fact of the matter is that in any democracy there can be those who are conducting their own shenanigans with the voting process.
History records that President Richard Nixon, who won election in 1968, went to his grave convinced he had won the 1960 election against Democrat John F. Kennedy, but was recorded as losing it because of Democrat-machine hanky-panky courtesy of Chicago’s Democrat machine as led by then-Mayor Richard Daley.
The good news is the obvious. President Trump really did win the 2024 election and was, thankfully, duly inaugurated as America’s 47th president. Where he sits in the White House until, God willing, Jan. 20, of 2029.
But the fact here is still a hard reality. Voter fraud has always been present in American elections. In a country of considerable size divided into 50 states there is no shortage of opportunity for hanky-panky in this or that election. The fact that one state or locality has made sure that their elections are run in clean-as-a-whistle fashion doesn’t mean that in another location that is not true. (RELATED: Trump Is Right on Rigged Elections)
Alas, flawed humans being flawed, there will always be some example somewhere of funny business in the counting of the votes in this or that election. (RELATED: Maybe Shut Up, Elissa)
The job, of course, falls to the officials in charge of running elections in this or that area to make sure that all is on the up and up. (RELATED: The SAVE Act: Why Are Senate Republicans Dithering?)
So how will the 2026 midterms turn out? Stay tuned.
But however they turn out, it is very safe to say that the moment the last vote is counted in this next election Tuesday?
Then 2028 begins. The next race to choose the next president is on.
And, one hopes, that all of the voters in 2028 will be American citizens qualified to vote.
