After We Laugh, We Must Treat DSA Program As Deadly Serious

Back in college, faced with peers who admitted they were communists, I simply laughed and then went about my day. It was among my bigger mistakes.

Those clowns went on to take over our K-12 schools and universities, our medical and law schools, the Smithsonian, the media, and other important institutions. (RELATED: The Communist Warnings Conservatives Ignored for Years)

Now we have a new goofy movement, the Democratic Socialists of America, taking over one of our two political parties. While satire can be one method of delegitimizing them in the eyes of young or desperate Americans, the danger they pose is deadly serious. Their “Workers Deserve More” program deserves a wide audience. And then it must be aggressively countered, and every Democrat candidate in America must be held accountable for the hearty welcome Democrats have given the DSA.

You may have heard Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attempt to deflect her past by saying “Woke 1 was crazy.”

But while the DSA’s program reads as if it were written in 1917, it was in fact just approved this past spring. The Democrats can’t dismiss their base’s key policy document of 2026 as from the bygone days of “Woke 1.” (RELATED: The Marxist-Islamist Alliance Feeds On DSA Naïveté)

The Democratic Party has welcomed into its ranks an organization that wants to end presidential elections!

A promise to “abolish the Senate,” which received considerable media attention, is merely the appetizer. The main course? The DSA wants to end presidential elections: “Replace the President and Supreme Court with an executive and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.”

Why hasn’t that stunning news already had millions of dollars of GOP ads behind it? The Democratic Party has welcomed into its ranks an organization that wants to end presidential elections! How do you think that would go over with swing district independents, or even sane Democrats? (RELATED: Meet America’s New Un-Americans… the DSA)

They promise to destroy America in countless other ways as well, including by handing America over to rapists and murderers: “END MASS INCARCERATION … redirect funding to public services as steps towards fully abolishing the police and prison system” [emphasis added]. Next up is “phase out the use of fossil fuels,” which currently provide more than 80 percent of all energy consumption in the US (90 percent with nuclear power included). In other words, a return to caveman days.

They also pledge to “extend full voting rights to” non-citizen permanent residents, currently incarcerated murderers, rapists and child molesters, and previously released violent felons.

Of course there is the obligatory Utopian claptrap: “a classless society … a world without war or poverty.” World peace through surrender to our enemies? (RELATED: You Simply Cannot Give Power to Lunatics)

The program also promises a 32-hour work week, free healthcare, free college, free medical school, free housing, race-based “reparations,” ending restrictions on abortion and trans surgeries, destroying Israel, and ending all sanctions on Cuba, Iran, Russia, and China.

Then comes the code language for violent revolution:

“Some of these demands may be won under our current system, but we know complete victory will require building a new society from the ground up,” “fighting to transform society [and] draft a new constitution.”

This mindset led the Left to murder 100 million innocents in the 20th century.

So how in the world can these people have any public support? Aside from indoctrination by our Leftwing educational system and media, it’s because the DSA also leverages legitimate grievances held by a significant proportion of Americans, who have historically borne most of the damage from exporting blue-collar jobs to China, and are grappling with year six of inflation, but without the benefit of meaningful exposure to stock market gains:

The world is in chaos, but for the bosses, it’s all going according to plan. … We can hear it in the rumble of bulldozers making way to build … data centers. We can feel it … in the pits of our stomachs when faced with the price of gas and rent. We’re promised magical technology with AI, but in reality, the bosses lay us off and track our every move. The billionaire class is dividing workers against each other, and it’s making us desperate and miserable.

The somewhat forgotten bulk of non-affluent Americans could be open to this messaging, because they can tell for whom the Beltway is structured. They know implicitly that “record corporate profits” and “highest on record” profit margins mean consumers are being gouged.

And that record-high stock market that I and so many of us love? While 58 percent of Americans have at least marginal exposure to the stock market, for many the total is insubstantial, even as compared to their income. The top 1 percent holds 90 percent of market wealth, while the bottom two-thirds hold less than 10 percent (and almost half hold zero).

“No tax on tips” is nice if you work for tips, but with average credit card interest rates a stunning 24 percent, and mortgage rates over 6.5 percent, the soaring stock market provides little relief for (and perhaps some envy from) an enormous chunk of the electorate. Push a struggling family hard enough, and they may look past the crazy to try someone — anyone — who might prioritize them.

Early voting starts in the first states in just three weeks, and the parties are pretty evenly matched in current polls, but with Democrats appearing more energized. As a “closing argument,” the GOP should make the election a referendum on the dangerous DSA-Democrats’ plans to end presidential elections and flood the nation with crime and mayhem.
