Peterson Podcast<\/span><\/i><span>, during which they discussed the dark life, writings, and ideas of Karl Marx. During that conversation, Peterson told Kengor that he was preparing to launch an online academy and wanted someone who could speak directly about what Kengor calls the \u201cdark, diabolical side of Karl Marx and Marxism.\u201d\u00a0<strong>(RELATED: Who Made It Into the \u2018Hall of Evil\u2019?)<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>\u201cI was so pleased when the Peterson Academy folks asked me to do this series,\u201d Kengor said. \u201cThis is material that badly needs to be known, and knowing the power of Peterson\u2019s reach, I knew we could make an impact.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span><span>Peterson Academy<\/span><span> was founded out of Peterson\u2019s frustration with the ideological conformity and exorbitant costs of today\u2019s higher education. The academy seeks to provide an alternative to modern academia by bringing together experts from a wide range of academic and professional fields to teach accessible, affordable courses. Kengor\u2019s course adds a detailed account of Marxism and communism to that growing catalogue.\u00a0<strong>(RELATED: To Hell With Karl Marx)<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The course was filmed before a live audience in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kengor begins with Karl Marx\u2019s disordered life, writings, and lifelong fascination with the devil before tracing the development of Marxist thought and the spread of communism through Bolshevism and the Soviet Comintern. Later lectures examine communist rule outside of Russia under Mao Zedong\u2019s People\u2019s Republic of China and Pol Pot\u2019s Khmer Rouge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The course also covers the history of American communism and the pivotal roles of Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II in ending the Cold War.
