I<\/span> am not in the habit of torturing my American friends with issues from my country of origin, Spain, unless it is to warn them of some danger that could very plausibly occur in other latitudes. We may be facing that very case. I had decided not to address the matter in these pages until I saw today how the American and British progressive press is lying viciously about what is actually happening in Spain, something that also happened in 2017 when a group of corrupt Catalan nationalist politicians tried to stage a coup d\u2019\u00e9tat, by means of an illegal declaration of independence, to cover up their ugly habit of stealing \u2014 with which they had managed to turn their region into the most indebted in Spain. A quick tip: The Financial Times<\/em> editorial on the Catalan issue, published this week, is perfect if you are short of toilet paper.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is happening in Spain?\u201d you may ask. The usual story. The extreme Left is stealing democracy out from under our noses, met with the impotence of the opposition and the passivity of the international community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The first thing you need to know is that Pedro S\u00e1nchez\u2019s Left lost the general elections in July. The center-Right of Feij\u00f3o\u2019s People\u2019s Party won them, with significant backing from Santiago Abascal\u2019s right-wing Vox. However, their victory was not enough to form a government because S\u00e1nchez maneuvered to bring together all the far-leftist parliamentarians, the former ETA terrorists, and all the regional nationalists to prevent the investiture with their vote.<\/span><\/p>\n

That\u2019s where S\u00e1nchez started rolling out his plan: to stay in power at all costs.<\/span><\/p>\n

The voracity of the postmodern Left is infinite. And the end justifies all the means. S\u00e1nchez, in need of the vote from seven Catalan pro-independence members of parliament to stay in the government, has sold off the entire nation to the whims of those who staged a coup against Spain in 2017, announcing an amnesty even for those involved in terrorism, forgiving the Catalan debt (which will now be paid by all Spaniards), introducing the concept of \u201clawfare\u201d into the agreement so that politicians can now persecute judges who upheld the constitutional legality in 2017, and committing himself to the celebration of an illegal and unconstitutional independence referendum.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In short: Spain, an old ally and friend of the United States, has just ceased to be a state of law and is in imminent transition to an extreme left-wing dictatorship of an unbearable Venezuelan stench.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If God does not prevent it, the Socialist Party will, therefore, govern from the middle of this month, associated with the Hamas-friendly communists who want to break off relations with Israel and who have demanded that Netanyahu be put before the Hague Tribunal. Along with the communists, there will also be those of Bildu, the political arm of the terrorist group ETA, whose outlawing the PSOE rolled back in the past, and becoming today S\u00e1nchez\u2019s partner without having ever issued so much as an apology to the families of the nearly 1,000 fatal victims of its attacks, without cooperating with justice to solve pending cases, and having also assassinated numerous socialist politicians.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But he still needed more support to become president. Thus, S\u00e1nchez adds to his government pact the aforementioned Catalan coup plotters, who have half of their population, the non-independent, under clamorous ideological persecution.<\/span><\/p>\n

The government pact, opposed by the majority of Spaniards because it puts an end to equality before the law (crimes are forgiven if you are a Catalan independentist) and ruins the whole nation, should be stopped immediately as soon as it reaches the constitutional court, because it radically violates the constitution. But \u2014 and this is the same thing that Ch\u00e1vez and Maduro did \u2014 S\u00e1nchez prepared his own coup d\u2019\u00e9tat already months ago, placing at the head of the court a socialist militant of his absolute trust to endorse any garbage that the government throws up in the form of a law.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While thousands of Spaniards have taken to the streets daily for seven days now in an attempt to prevent them from stealing our democracy, nation, and freedom, I ask friends and readers for a prayer for this great nation that is in the hands of a socialist dictator who is \u2014 it hurts to admit \u2014 too stupid to be allowed to beat us.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
