A total of 49 Tomahawk missiles were deployed, and fighter jets bombed areas near military facilities 45 miles outside of the city of Tehran and along the coast of the Persian Gulf.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationallogisticspost.com\/?p=436\">America on the Brink<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>According to<\/span><span> Iranian news reports<\/span><span>, Hezbollah has since retaliated by hitting 18 important U.S. targets in the Al-Salem and Ahmad al-Jaber bases. President Donald Trump <\/span><span>said on Truth Social<\/span><span> that he is canceling his plans to hit Iran again because he was able to have discussions with Iranian leaders and \u201cfinal points have been approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, etc.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Following the initial attacks, Trump participated in an<\/span> <span>on-air interview with Fox News,<\/span><span> saying the U.S. hit Iran very hard with \u201c250 million dollars\u2019 worth of bombs\u201d on Wednesday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Trump went on to note, \u201cMy preference has always been to take Kharg Island\u2026 I don\u2019t know if America has the stomach for it.\u201d Kharg Island is located 15 miles from the main coast of Iran and is a strategic outpost in the war because of its oil depot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The military attacks followed Trump\u2019s vow to hit Iran very hard after Iran recently shot a U.S. helicopter and their recent attacks on Israel. <\/span><span>Trump said<\/span><span>, \u201cThey\u2019ve taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, now they will have to pay the price!!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/nationallogisticspost.com\/?p=434\">Karmelo Anthony and Race \u2018Justice\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span>U.S. Central Command also<\/span> <span>announced<\/span><span> Wednesday that American forces would initiate retaliatory strikes. \u201cForces began launching self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. ET [Wednesday] at the Commander in Chief\u2019s direction,\u201d officials said in an X post, claiming the mission was \u201cproportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The U.S. response also follows what happened Tuesday at 3:30 a.m. local time, when Iran shot down a U.S. Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz. NBC reports say a \u201cdrone collided with the Apache, causing it to crash.\u201d Iran has not formally admitted responsibility for the crash. Trump said that two American pilots were involved, but are \u201csafe and uninjured.\u201d He added that the provocation warranted a direct response from the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Iranian Ambassador to the U.N.
