M<\/span>y most loyal readers already know that, as penance for my many sins, I occasionally read the New York Times<\/em>. It\u2019s painful because its opinion section is home to some of the most spectacularly misguided people I\u2019ve ever encountered. It\u2019s very rare for someone to be wrong about everything. I\u2019m a walking mistake myself, so I know what I\u2019m talking about. But there are columnists there who are always wrong about everything. It\u2019s a real talent. I imagine it takes a lifetime of work: going to a bad school, attending a sufficiently stupid university, listening to unbelievably idiotic radio hosts, and carefully selecting the dumbest and most sinister reading material imaginable. And finally, believing all of it. My admiration goes out to anyone capable of achieving something like that.<\/p>\n

Now the Times<\/em> has discovered that masculinity is in crisis, that the \u201cnew masculinity\u201d was a scam, and they\u2019ve recorded a podcast to discuss the issue. It\u2019s amusing that the Times<\/em> is surprised by the consequences of its own ideas: few newspapers have spent so many years fighting so hard to spread the disastrous ideas that destroyed the male universe.<\/p>\n

Some of us have been warning for years that destroying men, as the postmodern left has tried to do, would ultimately harm women far more than men themselves. Today, when the demolition of masculinity is more than complete, the Times<\/em> denounces the problem as if it were breaking news. The press was invented to report the news before people already knew it. Modern progressive journalism, by contrast, consists of being the last to report it \u2014 telling people something only after everybody already knows.<\/p>\n

The podcast gets the initial diagnosis right and then, with incredible skill, proceeds to propose a series of truly stupid ideas that, far from solving the crisis of masculinity, practically guarantee the disaster will continue. In short, they believe that social engineering against masculinity has failed and, instead of acknowledging that it failed because it was built on fallacies and ignored natural law, they propose a new form of social engineering. Wonderful: let\u2019s do the exact same thing that brought us here and see whether we get it right this time. In reality, if a majority followed the advice of the two participants in the discussion, 10 years from now the Times<\/em> would once again be running the headline: \u201cIncredibly, masculinity is still in crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n

In fact, the podcast opens like this: \u201cI think the reality is that we\u2019ve always had patriarchy at the intersection of capitalism and white supremacy, and how those things feast on one another and lift one another.\u201d When someone begins their argument like that, you already know they\u2019ll end up being wrong about everything.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s even a hilarious moment when one of the participants says that guys are now afraid to date women. I thought she was going to say that this was bad news and proof of the failure of modern feminism, but no \u2014 not at all. She\u2019s only concerned about black men. \u201cI think that black men are disproportionately accused of sexual violence by white women on college campuses, and often these accusations are found to be, if not unfounded, then very complex,\u201d she says, and I couldn\u2019t help bursting out laughing.<\/p>\n

The intellectual drift of the postmodern left resembles one long LSD trip. An endless madness. But instead of realizing that they live trapped in a spiral of errors, in open conflict with reality, instead of tearing the whole edifice down and returning to square one, they prefer to keep pulling threads in the tangled mess of stupid ideas produced by their social engineering. More than that: at the root of all their woke theory, they still believe the absurd notion that sex is a construct. I insist on what I already explained some time ago to a feminist who became very angry and called me \u201crude\u201d: Anyone who catches me in the shower and sees my construct will immediately understand that it is not a construct.<\/p>\n
