Y<\/span>ou\u2019ve heard this narrative out of Ohio over the weekend, right? That the Democrats\u2019 candidate for governor of that state, Amy Acton, who\u2019s in a close race with Vivek Ramaswamy at the moment, was attacked by a right-wing lunatic?<\/p>\n

Of course you have. It\u2019s a really big deal \u2014 if you listen to the legacy corporate propaganda press.<\/p>\n

For example, The Hill<\/em>\u2026<\/p>\n

An armed man lunged at Ohio gubernatorial candidate\u00a0Amy Acton\u00a0<\/span>(D) during a Canfield, Ohio, fair on Sunday, injuring several other attendees.<\/p>\n

Acton\u2019s campaign shared a statement after the incident, which took place at around 2:30 p.m. at the annual Canfield Fair, located in a Youngstown suburb,\u00a0NBC News\u00a0reported. The Mahoning County Sheriff\u2019s Office told the outlet they have 38-year-old Patrick Havas, a Canfield resident, in custody in connection to the incident.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile attending the Canfield Fair, an armed individual lunged at Dr. Acton, injuring multiple people. Dr. Acton and Eric are grateful for the swift, decisive action of law enforcement and are praying for the recovery of those injured,\u201d campaign communications director Addie Bullock said in\u00a0the statement, referring to Acton\u2019s husband,<\/strong>\u00a0Eric Acton.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis kind of violence has no place in Ohio,\u201d Bullock continued. \u201cDr. Acton will always stand up to this chaos, hate and vitriol that pits us against one another.\u201d<\/p>\n

Acton was not hurt and remained at the fair to attend to those injured in the attack.<\/p>\n

Gerry Ricciutti, a spokesperson for the Mahoning County Sheriff\u2019s Office, told NBC that Havas approached with a cellphone set up to record Acton as she spoke at the Mahoning County Democratic Party tent. He said Havas pushed through the crowd before Acton\u2019s security detail and Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers approached him, as two people fell to the ground.<\/p>\n

Police recovered two handguns and brass knuckles on the scene, though the man did not wield any of these items in the confrontation, they said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Gosh. Sounds serious.<\/p>\n

I mean, not really. It\u2019s not like Butler, or what happened to Lee Zeldin when he was running for governor of New York. But Serious, You Guys.<\/p>\n

This gag is growing whiskers. It\u2019s beyond old at this point. Is there anybody who doesn\u2019t recognize the Jussie Smollettization of American politics by people who are actively siccing lunatics on people who dissent from their views? Well, gosh, I think it was.<\/p>\n

Other than outlets like The Hill<\/em>, does anybody give these guys the benefit of the doubt anymore? PJ Media\u2019s Matt Margolis sure doesn\u2019t. Margolis lit into Acton and her campaign on Tuesday, and rightly so\u2026<\/p>\n

None of them waited for the sheriff\u2019s report. None of them checked the facts first. They ran with a fake version of events because the story fit a narrative they\u2019d already decided to sell.<\/p>\n

So, why did the Acton campaign play the victim here? That\u2019s easy to figure out.<\/p>\n

Acton is locked in a dead-heat race against Republican Vivek Ramaswamy. The most recent poll has Ramaswamy up three points, though Acton clings to a 0.3-point edge\u00a0in the RealClearPolitics average. A race that tight needs a catalyst to generate a wave of anger, enthusiasm, donations, and a base fired up enough to show up on Election Day.<\/p>\n

On top of that, Democrats have tried desperately since the assassination attempts on Donald Trump and the assassination of Charlie Kirk to convince the country that political violence is a \u201cboth sides\u201d problem.<\/p>\n

Make no mistake about it, the Acton campaign made a desperate move here and the New York Times, of all outlets, just handed everyone the receipts proving the campaign lied.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

But why drop this load of fertilizer? It won\u2019t pay off.<\/p>\n

One theory is that Havas, the guy not charged for the \u201cassault\u201d on Amy Acton, was trying to record her while everybody else agreed to turn off their cameras \u2014 for a specific reason.<\/p>\n

This being the reason\u2026<\/p>\n

Patrick Havas hasn\u2019t spoken out, but I\u2019ll wager that if and when he does, he\u2019ll say that the campaign tried to get people to stop recording their pie-eyed candidate, and he was jostled by some of their unhinged followers when he persisted, and since he\u2019s a big guy, he jostled them right back, which earned him a dose of crybullying and a questionable arrest.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the video of Wasted Amy Acton Who Is Fun At Parties But Might Not Quite Have Top-End Leadership Potential got out anyway.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s too bad Ramaswamy has made himself such a heavy lift among so many in his own party. He\u2019d be up 30 on Plastered Amy.<\/p>\n

But if this is the Democrats\u2019 strategy for winning news cycles over Labor Day, something tells me Vivek hit the lottery anyway.<\/p>\n

Our politics has become satire. Idiocracy<\/em> has officially become a documentary. This isn\u2019t a city council race \u2014 it\u2019s for governor in one of the most populous states in the country, and one of the candidates is so drunk at a speaking event in the middle of the day that they\u2019ve got to stage a full-on Reichstag Fire just to keep the folks from noticing.<\/p>\n
