T<\/span>he headline from Fox News was straightforward. It read: \u201cHouse Dems overwhelmingly reject anti-socialism resolution after 2 moderates defy Jeffries,\u201d with the subtitle, \u201cHouse Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries called the two moderates\u2019 defiance a \u2018breach of trust.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Amazingly, the story reported this:<\/p>\n

The House of Representatives\u00a0passed a resolution condemning socialism on Tuesday evening, with all but eight House Democrats voting against it.<\/p>\n

In a stunning twist of fate, however, the vote would not have occurred if two House Democrats hadn\u2019t stepped in hours earlier to help the GOP through a procedural hurdle \u2014 blindsiding House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., in the process.<\/p>\n

Jeffries later threatened consequences for the pair in a dramatic statement late on Tuesday night, calling their move a \u201cbreach of trust.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well now.<\/p>\n

Socialism, with memory apparently failing House Democrats, was the political philosophy that reigned supreme in huge chunks of Europe following the end of World War II.<\/p>\n

Not for nothing did the Socialist countries of Eastern Europe win the appellation of being trapped behind an \u201cIron Curtain.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cIron Curtain\u201d was, initially, the description of the literal, physical barrier of those socialist European countries forcibly aligned with the Soviet Union. Recall the full name of the \u201cUSSR\u201d \u2013 the Soviet Union. That would be \u201cthe Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Socialist \u201cIron Curtain\u201d was physically formed by, as noted in Wikipedia,\u00a0 \u201crazor wire,\u00a0fences,\u00a0fortified walls,\u00a0minefields, and\u00a0watchtowers.\u201d Those countries forcibly included behind the socialist Iron Curtain were the forcibly socialist nations of Poland, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, and, of course, the USSR.<\/p>\n

The citizens of those socialist heavens came to so detest the socialism that ran their lives that there were repeated attempts to overthrow their socialist governments.<\/p>\n

In 1956 came the Hungarian Revolution, a serious rebellion against the Socialist (Communist) government of Hungary imposed by the Russians \u2014 aka the USSR.<\/p>\n

In 1968 it was the turn of Czechoslovak citizens to rebel against the Russia-imposed Socialist government. The response: an invasion and violence from the USSR.<\/p>\n

By 1989, the internal pressure to topple the collective Socialist\/Communist governments of Eastern Europe had built with such force that by 1991 they not only toppled those Communist\/Socialist governments but, stunningly, the government of the USSR itself.<\/p>\n

In 1990, Poland\u2019s Communist government gave way to the freedom-demanding, decidedly anti-Socialist\u00a0 Republic of Poland, led by the elected President Lech Walesa.<\/p>\n

Which brings us back to today\u2019s House Democrats standing up for, yes indeed, socialism. With all of that hard, historical record of Socialism as a decided governing failure, it is little short of amazing, not to mention amusing \u2014 and even more than concerning! \u2014 that House Democrats are today standing up for Socialism.<\/p>\n

But standing up for Socialism they decidedly are.<\/p>\n

And as it happens, the 2026 mid-term elections have arrived.<\/p>\n

The question now is how hard Republicans will fight to make the Democrats pay the electoral price for their socialist yearnings. It is now a national question, affecting America from East to West and North to South.<\/p>\n

Quite visibly, with emphatic pronouncements, House Democrats have firmly planted their flag on the Socialist mountain.<\/p>\n

It matters not to them that history is filled with example after example of just how big \u2014 and dangerous \u2014 the Socialist ideal is. Yet that is one big \u201cno, never mind\u201d to House Democrats.<\/p>\n

So the campaign season of 2026 \u2014 the midterm elections of the second Trump era \u2014 has begun. With Democrats, led by Congressman Jeffries \u2014 quite vocally planting their flag on the Socialist mountain.\u00a0(RELATED: <\/strong>Now We Know What \u2018Maximum Warfare, Everywhere, All the Time\u2019 Means<\/strong>)<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is, without doubt, time for Republicans to pin the Socialist tail on the Democrat donkey. Democrat House Leader Jeffries has made plain that his party is standing for Socialism.<\/p>\n

Suffice to say, Republicans in the House and elsewhere should have a simple, two-word response to Jeffries and House Democrats. And that would be: \u201cMessage received.\u201d<\/p>\n
