E<\/span>lection campaigns are fertile ground for lies to flourish. Politicians are only allowed to lie on the campaign trail because, instead of calling them lies, people often call them \u201ccampaign promises.\u201d And, in any case, almost no one pays attention to campaign promises. The average citizen agrees to vote for one party or another while holding their nose, but they also feel little enthusiasm for what we call election propaganda.<\/span><\/p>\n

And yet, everything has its limits. Now that some time has passed since Trump returned to power, we need to bring back into focus some of the lies Democrats spread through every media outlet. Perhaps the funniest of all went something like this: democracy or Trump. In case there\u2019s anyone on the far left reading this, with their brain colonized by wokeism, the idea was to suggest that the only person capable of guaranteeing democracy was Kamala Harris.<\/span><\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t Harris\u2019s only big lie. She also suggested that Trump was quietly working on a plan for authoritarian or dictatorial rule if he won the election. She even hinted that the Republican planned to persecute and imprison opposition political leaders and govern completely outside the bounds of the Constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n

In short, Harris spent the entire campaign assuring everyone that a Donald Trump victory would mean the apocalypse, the destruction of the United States, and the emergence of a supremacist dictatorship in the world\u2019s most powerful nation. Harris has the mental capacity of a clam \u2014 but a clam that\u2019s already been hit with a hammer \u2014 and that has led some to suggest that his predictions were not manipulation but pure stupidity, sheer intellectual incapacity.<\/span><\/p>\n

That, however, is no excuse. Democrats lied again and again during the campaign, and now that time has passed and we can see that none of what they predicted has come true, it\u2019s worth remembering. Generally, the things said during election campaigns stay there, and nobody seems to remember them afterwards, as if they were harmless white lies or socially acceptable falsehoods. I refuse to let it be forgotten that the pack of beasts leading the Democratic Party since its abduction by Obama lied about the gravest, most sacred thing in the United States of America: democracy \u2014 that is, freedom \u2014 that is, the Constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n

I know Trump never misses an opportunity to point out that Joe Biden spent his days sleeping through official events and had no idea what he was signing or saying. And that\u2019s fine. But I do miss hearing him remind people that Democrats lied about the end of democracy. As far as I know, there is still a separation of powers, there are still elections, and citizens still vote freely. And, for the moment, it doesn\u2019t seem that Trump is throwing opposition leaders into gas chambers.<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s something funny about the way the Democratic Party has evolved. It has become a party empty of ideas and stuffed with slogans. Sometimes those slogans are highly effective during election campaigns, but after the election, if they lose, they dissolve like rain into the sea because they have no ideological identity whatsoever beyond the woke catchphrases they repeat like monkeys, along with four or five ideas that seem randomly generated by a monkey at a keyboard with ChatGPT\u2019s help. You know the script: Trump is a dictator, Republicans are fascists, and give peace a chance.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the end, it all amounted to nothing, which is why it\u2019s so easy for people to forget. But not for me. They lied to everyone when they claimed Trump would destroy the most important democracy in the Western world. They lied, and so did their European social democratic allies, who repeated that nonsense in every forum while trying \u2014 unsuccessfully \u2014 to influence the vote.<\/span><\/p>\n

Democracy in America is the same as, or even better than, it was under Biden. The Constitution is stronger than it was before. And national values are healthier than ever. The only thing that has actually changed for the worse is that now people try to kill the president far more often. Who could they possibly be? The defenders of democracy? Chesterton would have loved this paradox.<\/span><\/p>\n
