President Trump gets a deal for acquiring more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuelan oil \u2014 and Democrats are furious.<\/p>\n

Going on Truth Social, the President correctly termed it, in capital letters no less, the \u201cBIGGEST OIL DEAL IN WORLD HISTORY.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president went on to say:<\/p>\n

This Historic Transaction MORE THAN DOUBLES American Oil Reserves, greatly increases our Oil Supply, and will substantially lower Gas Prices for all Americans, long into the future, while helping to continue to set Venezuela on a course toward Tremendous Success and Great Prosperity.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Hill<\/i>\u2019s Sarah Davis reported:\u00a0\u201cThis deal applies to around 21 percent of the South American country\u2019s total proven oil reserves, which amount to\u00a0about 303 billion barrels.\u201d<\/p>\n

No sooner was this landmark agreement announced than Democrats were out there denouncing it at the bidding of their far Left buddies.\u00a0(RELATED: Drill, Baby, Geopolitics: Now It\u2019s a Matter of National Security)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Democrat Virginia Senator Tim Kaine stood up for the ousted Venezuelan dictator, accusing the president of trying to \u201ccontrol Venezuelan oil.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ohio\u2019s GOP Senator Bernie Moreno hit back at the ludicrous charge from Kaine, noting:\u00a0 \u201cIf it were up to DC Democrats, Maduro would still be in power, Venezuelan oil would be going to China at half price, and the people of Venezuela would be getting robbed by a corrupt regime.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moreno added that:\u00a0\u201cInstead, this historic deal benefits both countries for generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

Exactly.<\/p>\n

The real question here is what would happen if Kaine and his fellow Democrats got their way.<\/p>\n

Secretary of State Marco Rubio had this to say, as reported by the Center on Global Energy Policy:<\/p>\n

Among the rationales for the US intervention in Venezuela, Secretary Rubio mentioned the national security implications of having US adversaries use Venezuela as a hub for their activities in the region, in addition to controlling Venezuela\u2019s\u00a0 oil reserves \u2014 the largest in the world. His comments are consistent with statements in the US of \u201cdenying non-hemispheric competitors the ability to position forces or other threatening capabilities, or to own or control strategically vital assets, in the Western Hemisphere.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In short? The Democrats are all too willing to allow \u201cUS adversaries (to) use Venezuela as a hub for their activities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cutting to the chase? The term \u201cU.S. adversaries\u201d quite specifically means, among others, China. Which is to say, Democrats are all too willing to close their eyes to Chinese meddling in the affairs of the Western Hemisphere, whether North, Central or South America.<\/p>\n

And note well, Central America includes the prime U.S. asset of the Panama Canal and American and global shipping through the canal. Democrats, essentially, have closed their eyes to the reality of Chinese interference with the Canal.<\/p>\n
