Unfortunately, I don’t have the luxury of taking such a vacation — unless a Friday-Saturday-Sunday absence can be considered a long vacation.

Read more The ‘Black Insurgent’ and Americanization of Polish Society

The day job requires me to be plugged into the social media sewer. There is no other way to effectively promote a website you publish, or intellectual property you’re trying to sell, than to plug your stuff on social media. And if you’re there plugging it, you’re also there reading what’s in your feed.

And what’s in your feed, this week, is nothing short of horrific. As in, lose-what’s-left-of-your-faith-in-humanity horrific.

But what I’ll say is there might actually be a silver lining. What’s happening with this disgusting Lindsay Clancy trial might just be a silver bullet for Republicans running for House and Senate seats this fall.

1. The Mommy-Sleuth Mass Hysteria

I don’t have to explain this too much. You’ve certainly seen these ubiquitous videos pushing the idea that Lindsay Clancy didn’t kill her children and it was the husband who did it.

It’s all women pushing this. If there is a man anywhere who’s pushing it, I’ve not seen one. And thankfully it isn’t the majority of women who are trying to say she didn’t do it.

Which is good, because guess who’s part of the majority who agree she did it?

Lindsay Clancy.

If you’re trying to convince the public that she’s innocent or she was framed, then the biggest obstacle you’re running into is the fact that the defense has STIPULATED to her having killed her children. All of these people who have turned Lindsay Clancy’s attorney, Kevin Reddington — a 75-year-old veteran lawyer who’s known as the guy who tries all the insanity-defense cases in Massachusetts — into a hero for his zealous defense of his client, but then they utterly ignore the defense he’s presenting.

Which is that she did it, but she wasn’t responsible.

They ignore that, and they immediately blame the husband, Patrick Clancy, who has a rock-solid alibi and who is on the 9-1-1 tape apparently giving such a tortured reaction that the tape won’t be played to the public.

Saying that he killed those kids is rubbing up against defamation, you know. It’s entirely possible that when this is over, his legal team might start looking for recompense. But in the meantime, what I’m seeing as this goes on is more and more people getting very angry at the mommy-sleuth poseurs who think they know more than the professionals and even Lindsay Clancy’s own defense lawyer.

So much so that I had a friend — a single guy — text me and say that this was going to be an acid test for dateability of women he ran across. Anybody who disputes that Lindsay Clancy did it is immediately red-flagged.

2. The Post-Partum Psychosis Mass Hysteria

The other thing my friend said in that text was that anybody who started with the sympathy for Lindsay Clancy based on Post-Partum Psychosis, which by the way has not been proven in court so far and is actually the issue being litigated as of press time for this column, was also undateable as far as he’s concerned.

I said a week ago in the podcast Grace and Madelynn and I did about this, that I’m on board with the Clancy case as a medical malpractice lawsuit for the ages, because giving that woman 13 different psychotropic drugs in four months is just downright bizarre. So, sure — we might be able to find some common ground around the idea that we need to start smashing the brakes on these mind-altering drugs, which seem to generate pretty suspect results. (RELATED: The Spectacle Ep. 452: The War on Moms and Babies: Lindsay Clancy Case, Fauci, and Vaccines)

We are not going to find common ground around this…

The evil within.

The capture of our educational system and the media has born fruit.

Rotten, toxic fruit. ☠️ pic.twitter.com/M9heXRNZf7

— BoDeep (@BoDeepest) August 20, 2026

Demonstrating outside the courthouse and making a hero/victim out of somebody who admits she strangled her three little children is so absolutely abhorrent as to boggle the mind.

There will be, and already is, a backlash.

Young man broke up with his GF of 3 years over her opinion on Lindsay Clancy

Justified? https://t.co/ea83C6LxSu pic.twitter.com/q2drBJCK6L

— E (@ElijahSchaffer) August 20, 2026

Nobody — nobody — is minimizing that changes in hormonal balance following a pregnancy can do strange things to a woman. Sometimes it’s depression, sometimes it’s worse. We all get that.

Really, we do.

But we also expect that women are adults and fully capable of handling post-partum symptoms without murdering their children. And this is not an unreasonable expectation.

Because if it is unreasonable, and something has changed whereby the women of today can’t be held accountable for not murdering their children in cases where post-partum symptoms arise, then we’re going to have to embark on a massive campaign to build psychiatric hospitals all over the country to house all the people we’ll need to commit for treatment before they kill their kids. We can’t lose a whole generation of our children (what few we’re having, considering how many are harvested before they emerge from the womb) to the vagaries of the bad moods post-partum hormones may cause.

I’m not minimizing this problem. It’s the opposite. If I’m to believe those pink-clad protesters outside that courthouse, this is a grave threat to the future of the nation, and we need immediate action by the State to protect our children from our women.

And if that’s absurd, then why are those demonstrators not absurd?

For that matter, why is this not absurd? Not so far. But there’s some.

There is absolutely a rift out there between black women and white women, though. It’s growing. It’s showing up quite a bit in Texas, where James Talarico’s campaign is having some distinct problems energizing black women who are still salty about Jasmine Crockett not getting the Democrats’ nomination for the Senate seat there. Talarico is polling fairly well against Ken Paxton, at least according to the same polls which always seem to vastly overstate the support Democrat candidates have in that state, but Talarico is the classic bait candidate for AWFLs, and he’s regularly getting lit up by black women at his town halls now. (RELATED: The Incredibly, Unacceptably Weird James Talarico)

It’s impossible that the Lindsay Clancy case is going to help this situation. It’s virtually certain to make it worse the more the AWFLs galvanize around a child murderer, and black women marvel at the sense of entitlement behind such advocacy.

4. The DSA Are a Bunch of Cuban Agents and Assets, You Know

Am I harping on this because The Necessary Men is now serializing here at The American Spectator? Of course I am. And you can navigate the entire Mike Holman series, all of which has been posted at this site, by using this link. (RELATED: Scott McKay’s The Necessary Men — Episode 3: La Bala de Gibara)

But one of the things readers of the Holman books will tell you is how frighteningly similar to reality they are, and not so much in the way they’re ripped from the headlines but rather that they’re ripped from tomorrow’s headlines. And one of the chief contentions which come through in The Necessary Men is the level of involvement the Cuban communist regime has in funding and controlling the Hard Left in America.

This is made pretty clear in the State Department’s report on Cuba which came out a few weeks ago. It’s also made pretty clear when the DSA’s people start talking in front of cameras. (RELATED: Cuba’s Hidden Proxy Network: The War Against America)

You might have seen this clip. It’s from The Fifth Column, which is a podcast starring Michael Moynihan, Matt Welch, and Kmele Foster (it’s a libertarian show and not a particularly Trump-friendly program). And they’re pulling the video from a podcast interview that Jorge Ramos and his daughter Paola put on, which featured the DSA national co-chairs Megan Romer and Ashik Siddique, when Jorge Ramos asked the two of them about Cuba.

Romer is a very weird animal. Suspiciously so.

She lives in upstate New York now, but for a time — circa 2017-2023 or so — she lived in Lafayette, Louisiana and had a job as a travel writer and a Sunday school teacher at a Presbyterian church in that town. Romer was a left-wing political activist who made noise on a few issues locally, perhaps the most significant one being a campaign to get the city of Lafayette to take down a statue of Confederate general Alfred Mouton, which had existed for well more than a century, but otherwise she posted absolutely zero political accomplishments at all. Folks involved in local politics in Lafayette didn’t even remember her name three years after her departure when I asked about her.

My point being that here is somebody who has zero discernible political talent. No political or professional accomplishments of any kind. No educational accomplishments of any kind. As I understand it, she’s a community college dropout. (I don’t hold that against her, mind you; most American colleges and universities are massive ripoffs — but if you aren’t getting an education then you probably ought to be able to account for your time with some work experience, and in her case there isn’t much.)

And all of a sudden she’s the national co-chair of a fringe organization which has now all but taken over the Democrat Party.

Romer has been a national co-chair of the DSA since 2023, so the fact that she’s in the job isn’t overly significant. On the other hand, the DSA has been around for more than four decades, and it’s been associated with the Cuban regime — as in funding and organization through an outfit called ICAP, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples — for all of that time.

And here she is bragging to Ramos that she’s been to Cuba three times (we know one of them was with a Presbyterian church group in 2019) while claiming that Cubans have access to their democracy in a way that we do not. That set Moynihan and Welch off into almost violent paroxysms, and for good reason — they haven’t had a multiparty election in Cuba since before the violent communist takeover by the Castros, despite the fact that Fidel Castro promised free elections within 18 months of that takeover.

You aren’t just a moron when you say something like this. You’re evil. This is pure propaganda straight out of Havana. And it comes from the mouth of somebody who says she’s been there three times and “talked to the people.”

She’s telling you she’s a Cuban agent. You’re trying to figure out how somebody this terrible could be running an organization that’s taking over one of our two main political parties, when you already know that organization is a front for the Cuban regime, which has hosted her three different times. And the answer is she’s there because Havana wants her there.

Think that’s off-base? Fine. Feel free to explain how Megan Romer, who displays absolutely zero redeeming political or media qualities of any kind, is where she is. The comments are open.

5.
