P<\/span>ennsylvania\u2019s GOP Senator Dave McCormick gets it.<\/p>\n

Over there in\u00a0Newsmax<\/i>, two days after Michigan\u2019s Democrat voters nominated the hard-left Abdul El-Sayed for a Senate seat in the state\u2019s Democrat primary, the Senator points to the Democrat Party\u2019s \u201cradicalization.\u201d\u00a0(RELATED: The Marxist-Islamist Alliance Feeds On DSA Na\u00efvet\u00e9)<\/strong><\/p>\n

McCormick correctly adds: \u201cThis is a party that\u2019s anti-law enforcement. It\u2019s anti-military, it\u2019s anti-business, it\u2019s antisemitic, and it\u2019s anti-American. Exactly. (And full disclosure, the Senator represents my own state of Pennsylvania.)<\/p>\n

The real question, or one of them in this situation, would be how in the world did the Democrat Party wind up in this situation?<\/p>\n

The answer, I would suggest, has been around for a long time \u2014 a very long time.<\/p>\n

Hop in the history time capsule and rocket back with me to an earlier time \u2014 specifically the 1960\u2019s.<\/p>\n

In that long-ago time, Democrats nominated the moderate Democrat Massachusetts Senator John F. Kennedy for President in the famous 1960 election, facing Democrats with then-GOP Vice President Richard Nixon.\u00a0(RELATED: The Communist Warnings Conservatives Ignored for Years)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The election was close. So close that charges of Democrat meddling in Chicago\u2019s interesting wards have remained in history to this day. But JFK was credited with the win. What happened after that was particularly interesting \u2014 and tragic.<\/p>\n

Tragically, JFK was assassinated by the pro-Communist Lee Harvey Oswald in November of 1963, succeeded by his Vice President Lyndon Johnson. A year later, in November of 1964, LBJ went on to overwhelm the GOP\u2019s conservative hero Arizona Senator Barry Goldwater, leading a unified Democrat Party.<\/p>\n

But a mere two years later, increasingly divided by LBJ\u2019s Vietnam War policies, the Democrats were well on the way to an increasingly serious split. That split raged into the open in 1968, with the segment of the Democrats increasingly opposing LBJ\u2019s hard-line Vietnam War policy. There was also a split along cultural lines, with the Left\u2019s attraction to hippies and drugs surging throughout the party and even beyond.<\/p>\n

LBJ was opposed by a growing faction of hard-Left Democrats led by Democrat Senators Eugene McCarthy and Robert F. Kennedy (father of today\u2019s RFK Jr.) and challenged in the early Democrat primaries. In a blink, LBJ astonished the political world of the day and announced he was withdrawing from his re-election race.<\/p>\n

Succeeded as the Democrat Establishment favorite by his Vice President Hubert Humphrey, LBJ\u2019s withdrawal did nothing to unify the party. By the time of the Democrat Convention in Chicago, all un-shirted h-e-double-you-know-what had broken loose. The Convention was engulfed in anti-war literal riots in the Chicago streets.<\/p>\n

Americans had never seen this kind of political warfare at a political convention before. And the fact that it all occurred in front of the day\u2019s television cameras magnified the split.<\/p>\n

Way back there in 1968 \u2014 a full 58 years ago! \u2014 this was the opening of a cultural Democrat split that has never gone away. Yes, sometimes it has cooled off. But disappeared in the 58 years following that 1968 Democrat chaos? Never.<\/p>\n

Just below the surface, the Democrats are still \u2014 very much still \u2014 what today\u2019s GOP Senator McCormick describes thusly of the Democrats: \u201cThis is a party that\u2019s anti-law enforcement. It\u2019s anti-military, it\u2019s anti-business, it\u2019s antisemitic, and it\u2019s anti-American. And that\u2019s what the policy agenda is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Exactly.<\/p>\n

After 58 years, it is, to say the least, more than slightly difficult to believe that here in the 21st century today\u2019s Democrat party, the heir and descendant of all that 1968 chaos and succeeding over-the-years-division, has resolved its divisions and differences.<\/p>\n

This is not to say that various Democrat leaders have not seen and understood this central division, trying their respective bests to unify their party. Democrat presidents from Jimmy Carter to Bill Clinton to Barack Obama to Joe Biden, some more centrist than others, have all come and gone. Yet the central underlying division between the party\u2019s hard-core far Left and the party Establishment has persisted. There, per the far Left voters of today, the Party remains exactly as Senator McCormick has labeled it: \u201cThis is a party that\u2019s anti-law enforcement. It\u2019s anti-military, it\u2019s anti-business, it\u2019s antisemitic, and it\u2019s anti-American. And that\u2019s what the policy agenda is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Again.<\/p>\n

Exactly.<\/p>\n

What Senator McCormick has described exactly is a Democrat Party that is everything he has quite accurately described.<\/p>\n

The central question the GOP has to face directly is the hard fact that there are close to 80-some days left to get the party\u2019s fall election message in order. To not only get Senator McCormick\u2019s message out there but also focus on the GOP\u2019s message that should be coming from every party leader, whether running for election or running a campaign for whatever office they may be about.<\/p>\n

As always, time flies. And the GOP needs to make sure its message is out there.<\/p>\n

Safe to say, starting with Senator McCormick\u2019s message is a good place to start.<\/p>\n
