First, the bananas.<\/p>\n

Over there at Fox News is this headline featuring the proudly socialist mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani. The headline: \u201cMamdani\u2019s city grocery plan could leave taxpayers paying for every banana,\u201d with the subtitle, \u201cCritics say the city-run food stores will lose at least 28 cents on every dollar.\u201d<\/p>\n

The story reports:<\/p>\n

Thirty-five years after the Soviet Union collapsed, the Communist bread line is poised for a comeback in the Big Apple, as Mayor Zohran Mamdani announces his government grocery stores will be undercutting real groceries by 30%. Not to worry, socialism will work this time.<\/p>\n

The announcement came during a press conference on July 27, where Comrade Mamdani promised 30% discounts for \u201cessential\u201d products at his new city-run grocery stores. The problem, of course, is grocery stores are in a razor-thin industry, sporting profit margins of roughly 2%. And that\u2019s with competent management, which New York City government is decidedly not famous for.<\/p>\n

That means even if the socialists somehow manage to run a grocery as efficiently as Aldi, Walmart or Gristedes, the city will be losing an ungodly amount of money \u2014 at least 28 cents on the dollar. Since New York\u2019s best and brightest in government will be far less efficient than the private sector, the losses, predictably, will be even higher.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Well now.<\/p>\n

One would logically think that since the record of socialism is nothing but producing decidedly reckless failure (See: the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, USSR, or, if you prefer a country-by-country look, try Cuba, East Germany, Hugo Chavez\u2019s Venezuela, Mao\u2019s China, etc., etc., etc. In doing so, there would be the obvious recognition: socialism doesn\u2019t work. Not to mention that socialism has an ugly habit of descending into dictatorship.)<\/p>\n

But clearly, history and logic don\u2019t work with New York\u2019s Mayor Mamdani.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the crew running America\u2019s beloved Smithsonian Institution. Exposing a dedicated mission of rewriting American history to display the latest in the current left-wing resolve of making American history woke. The latter has, fortuitously, attracted the attention of President Trump.\u00a0(RELATED: The Smithsonian\u2019s Culture War On American History)<\/strong><\/p>\n

This Fox story reports:<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump\u2018s effort to root out what his administration calls \u201cwoke\u201d ideology at the Smithsonian has grown into one of the most extensive White House reviews of the institution in decades.<\/p>\n

The Smithsonian oversees 21 museums, the National Zoo and nearly 157 million objects and specimens while receiving more than $1 billion annually in federal funding outside of private-side dollars.<\/p>\n

The administration\u2019s campaign has placed the taxpayer-supported institution at the center of a broader debate over patriotism, historical interpretation and the role of federally funded cultural institutions amid a growing divide over how people view and retell America\u2019s story.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In sum? Whether it is literally the price of bananas in New York or the management of the Smithsonian? No matter which, socialism \u2014 Communism? \u2014 is on the march in America. On the one hand, making bananas (and who knows what else?) more expensive, while at the same time rewriting American history to fit the 21st century\u2019s decidedly left-leaning version of that American history.\u00a0(RELATED: Yes, They\u2019re Communists, and Yes, They\u2019re Lying About It. The obvious question?<\/p>\n

What to do about all of this.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, President Trump is on both cases. He is managing an economy that is based on free market principles, the self-same free market principles that allowed him to build his own myriad of Trump Organization businesses. And he is giving no ground to the theft that is called socialism.<\/p>\n

Not to mention, as that Fox story reports: \u201cPresident\u00a0Donald Trump\u2018s effort to root out what his administration calls \u2018woke\u2019 ideology at the Smithsonian has grown into one of the most extensive White House reviews of the institution in decades.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, three cheers for that!<\/p>\n

Again: Amen to the Trump effort to challenge this considerable rewriting of history to meet leftist fairy tales.<\/p>\n

But one thing is crystal clear. Whether it\u2019s fighting the socialism that raises the price of bananas in New York or rewriting American history to fit some Leftist fairy tale at the Smithsonian, the answer is the same.<\/p>\n
