I<\/span>t\u2019s been a week.<\/p>\n

Last week I was off. At least from here at The American Spectator,<\/em> I was off. I took a \u201cvacation\u201d from the day-job activities here and at The Hayride so that I could focus on The Necessary Men<\/em>, which is the new Mike Holman novel.<\/p>\n

I was on Chapter 2 on July 3 when I started the \u201cvacation.\u201d By Sunday night, I\u2019d finished Chapter 12. I\u2019m expecting the first draft to be done by the end of next week, and then it\u2019ll serialize here at The American Spectator<\/em> next month.<\/p>\n

The Necessary Men<\/em> games out, in the Mike Holman universe, President Trump\u2019s \u201cfriendly invasion\u201d of Cuba. It\u2019s probably the most satirical, and definitely the funniest, of the four. Which is not to say it isn\u2019t serious or that it isn\u2019t a political thriller. It still fits in that category.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been saying that Cuban communists won\u2019t like it. American communists REALLY won\u2019t like it. Everybody else, though, will get a kick out of it.<\/p>\n

Anyway, this has been a tough week, because I\u2019m slogging my way through this week\u2019s columns here, and doing the Spectacle Podcast<\/em> (we had really good segments this week, by the way; make sure you check those out), and doing Hayride stuff, and all I really want to do is get the first draft of the novel finished.<\/p>\n

Part of that desire is my increasing distaste for politics as it\u2019s currently practiced in this country. And there\u2019s something in particular that I can\u2019t stand. I\u2019d call it out if I saw it from Republicans, but I don\u2019t\u2026 really. I\u2019ve seen Marjorie Taylor Greene and Thomas Massie do this at times, but not that often. But on the Left, it\u2019s non-stop.<\/p>\n

And I\u2019ll show you five examples of it that I found on Facebook and X in about an hour on Thursday morning. That\u2019s how absolutely everywhere it is.<\/p>\n

Performative stupidity.<\/p>\n

By that, I mean pretending not to know anything in an effort to push a narrative that everybody understands is false. These examples will explain it.<\/p>\n

1. Cops and Commie Protesters Are on the Same Moral Plane, You Guys<\/h2>\n

This person isn\u2019t important, but she\u2019s not the only one pushing this message\u2026<\/p>\n

When Charlie Kirk was killed, people said he was a father taken who didn\u2019t deserve to be murdered for doing what they love etc.<\/p>\n

This week, two unarmed, undocumented fathers were killed by ICE<\/p>\n

Where\u2019s that same outrage? Does our humanity end at immigration status?<\/p>\n

The darkly funny part about this was that Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, the Mexican illegal killed by ICE in Houston, was a meth dealer. He was a cartel thug resisting arrest.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s not so funny is that the Left apparently likes Mexican illegal cartel thugs more than they like Charlie Kirk.<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s really amazing to have to note that no, communist protesters are not on the same moral plane as law enforcement officers trying to make an arrest during the execution of their duties, and no, an illegal alien career criminal fighting with police is not the same thing as a political activist giving a speech on a college campus.<\/p>\n

The comeback to all of this is something which should be absurd but is instead patently obvious, which is that the Democrat Party is bought and paid for by the cartels, and that\u2019s why they make cartel thugs into mini-George Floyds every time they suffer consequences for being cartel thugs.<\/p>\n

2. The \u201cGender-Affirming Care\u201d Faux Flex<\/h2>\n

Naturally, Adam Schiff would be out there making fun of testosterone. We mock what we don\u2019t understand, after all.<\/p>\n

And of course, Schiff was echoing the performative stupidity of this manifestly unqualified woman\u2026<\/p>\n

The Secretary of Forever Wars, Pete Hegseth, just announced they are going to provide hormone therapy to male service members who don\u2019t have enough testosterone.<\/p>\n

It should hardly be a controversial point that the Secretary of War would want to ensure the men of the U.S. military maintain healthy levels of testosterone. There are lots of basic health reasons why we\u2019d want that, not to mention the obvious fact that your warfighters are going to need to be high-T individuals if you want to win wars.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to belabor that. Instead, I\u2019ll point out the argument, straight from the cutting-room floor of Idiocracy, that you get from Adam Schiff and Pramila Jayapal. Which is that an unquestionable male who is tested for testosterone levels and given the opportunity to boost them is \u201caffirming his gender\u201d in the same way that a confused male who thinks he\u2019s female would be affirming his gender by taking female hormones.<\/p>\n

They actually think this is smart rhetoric and that it\u2019s going to persuade people that their arguments are better, rather than an open admission that they spew abject nonsense all day.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s where we are. And there\u2019s so much more of it out there. To wit\u2026<\/p>\n

3. The Brilliance of Immigration Expert John Leguizamo<\/h2>\n

This is a branch of an especially idiotic tree, and it comes from somebody who can best be described as a Hispanic supremacist. John Leguizamo is hilarious, unintentionally, because when he talks about \u201cwhite people,\u201d he doesn\u2019t seem to understand that his Spanish heritage actually makes him one of us.<\/p>\n

Spain is in Europe, you know. Spanish people are Europeans. John Leguizamo comes from a Spanish bloodline. He\u2019s white. And if his argument is that white people are \u201cillegal immigrants\u201d for having settled the Americas, he should probably recognize that, far and away, the most brutal of the conquerors of the indigenous peoples of the Western Hemisphere were his ancestors, the Spanish.<\/p>\n

That would require introspection. John Leguizamo doesn\u2019t have any of that on offer. Instead, he gives us this\u2026<\/p>\n

This would be a forgettable nothing of a clip but for the fact that it\u2019s a running performatively-stupid catechism of the Left. Remember \u201cnobody\u2019s illegal on stolen land?\u201d That was Billie Eilish\u2019s idiotic line at the Grammys earlier this year, and she was rightly pilloried for it, including by the Native American tribe who\u2019d been in residence in Southern California when Leguizamo\u2019s Spanish ancestors showed up and ran them off \u2014 the tribe asked Eilish if she\u2019d sign over the title to her house and got the sound of crickets in response.<\/p>\n

And rightly so, because there was assuredly a tribe that\u2019d had that land earlier and got bounced off it.<\/p>\n

I can\u2019t share this movie clip enough. I\u2019ve never seen Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee<\/em>; I keep saying I\u2019m going to get around to watching it, but I\u2019ve seen this clip 100 times and so should every dumb leftist pushing the \u201cstolen land\u201d performative stupidity\u2026<\/p>\n
